The Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi invites volunteers, troop leaders, and youthserving adults to join us for a powerful, handson Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification Training at Camp Iti Kana in Wiggins. This nationally recognized course equips caring adults with the knowledge and confidence to recognize when a young person may be struggling - and respond with calm, compassionate support.

Throughout this interactive training, participants will learn how to identify early signs of common mental health challenges in youth ages 12-18, including anxiety, depression, trauma responses, substance use, and emerging crises. Volunteers will practice using the evidencebased ALGEE action plan, a simple and effective framework that guides adults through assessing safety, listening nonjudgmentally, offering reassurance, and connecting youth to appropriate help. This training is designed for any adult who works with or supports young people, whether in troops, camps, programs, or community settings. No prior experience is required - just a willingness to learn and a commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for every girl.

By the end of the session, participants will leave with:

* Increased confidence in responding to youth in distress
* Practical tools for supporting emotional wellness
* A nationally recognized Youth Mental Health First Aid certification
* A deeper understanding of how to build a culture of care within Girl Scout programs

Together, we can ensure that every girl feels seen, supported, and safe. Join us for this essential training and help strengthen the heart of our Girl Scout community. Lunch will be provided.
