Paddlesports Safety Training (formerly known as Small Craft Training) is a two-day course covering the safe handling of canoes and kayaks. An American Canoe Association instructor will provide the training at Camp Iti Kana in Wiggins, Mississippi. The online portion of this training must be completed before you arrive at camp. After registration closes, you will receive an email with the link to the online training and an Adult Waiver and Release of Liability form that must be signed. Be sure to bring with you water, snacks, a change of clothes, and a waterproof lightweight jacket. You must also be comfortable in water to complete the training.
The fee includes: (1) two days of training by a Level 4 certified American Canoe Association instructor, (2) overnight accommodations (bring your own food), and (3) upon completing the course, a 2-year training certificate and ACA insurance coverage.
