Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors-pack your sense of adventure! Older Girl Scouts are invited to learn and practice backpacking and primitive camping skills during a 2-day hike in Bienville National Forest in Forest, MS. Campers will build a strong outdoor foundation in navigation, fire building, water purification, and proper food storage, all while exploring peaceful trails, spotting wildlife, and making memories with their Girl Scout crew.
No primitive camping experience? No problem! This adventure is designed for Girl Scouts who are ready to learn, try new things, and support one another on the trail. All hikers should be prepared to carry their own packs. Girls will hike to the campsite, pitch their tents, enjoy a true back-to-basics camping experience, and hike back on day 2. Please note that the site will have limited running water. Your supply list and packing instructions can be found attached to your event confirmation in the "MY Events" tab of your MYGS account under the Additional Documentation section. You can contact Kyna McCalpin at 601-326-5648 or kmccalpin@gsgms.org if you have questions or need assistance registering.
