Are your girls curious about how smartphones know what to do, or how stoplights magically change colors at just the right moment? Then get ready for an amazing adventure into the world of computer coding at the Jackson County FabLab! This isn't just any course--it's a hands-on, brain-boosting, meme-making journey where your Cadette will explore how computers think and follow instructions. They'll dive into the fascinating world of step-by-step code--the kind that powers everything from apps to traffic lights!

Through playful discovery and creative problem-solving, your girls will learn how computers understand instructions (yep, they have their own special language!) Unleash their creativity by designing hilarious, clever, or heartfelt memes that can be shared far and wide. Get comfortable with functions and arguments (spoiler: not the kind you have with your siblings!) Write real shareable code like a true techie. Use their voices and memes to make an impact on their friends, community, and even the world! By the end of this exciting session, your Cadette will not only earn a badge but also leave feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to take on the digital world with confidence and creativity. So come join the fun, make new friends, and turn lines of code into laughs, learning, and leadership.  Because when Girl Scouts code, they code with heart!

Check-in starts at 8:45 a.m. An adult must accompany the girls, and troops should be in the correct girl-to-adult ratio. This is a member event; no tagalongs. However, if you are a non-member adult/chaperone, you can register for $3. If you need help registering, please contact Kyna McCalpin at 601-326-5648 or kmccalpin@gsgms.org.
