Girl Scouts Encounter Texas (j, c)
What is a progression trip?
"Progression," in Girl Scout travel language, means that girls participate in shorter trips to gain skills and experience in preparation for the longer, more distant, or more culturally challenging trips. On this trip, girls will travel with their troop leaders and/or parents to Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX, where they will check-in with GSGMS council staff members to participate in a Rainforest Overnight Adventure badge workshop. Adults will return to Moody Gardens at 9 p.m. to rejoin their Girl Scout and tuck in for the night. The next morning, after breakfast, adults will once again leave their Girl Scout with GSGMS council staff to continue with activities at Moody Gardens. Lunch will be off site at Mr. Gatti's, troop leader and/or parents are responsible for all transportation. After lunch, adults and girls will rejoin GSGMS council staff at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas for dinner and STEM activities throughout the evening. The next morning adults and girls are released to enjoy the rest of their day on their own.
