Join us in Laurel, Mississippi, and be prepared for back to school with this special community event presented by Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi. It's so important to learn at every age how to be a friend. This special event has an anti-bullying message to help us all get ready to return to school prepared to make new friends, and keep the old.

Erin Napier, HGTV Home Town star, together with her real-life best friend Mallorie Rasberry, will be our key note speakers sharing a special message on friendship.

"Be a Friend First" will be the key message for the girls as they enjoy hands-on art activities. Each girl attending will enjoy a short art workshop creating a set of special encouragement cards to share with others on the first day of school or to hand to a friend experiencing a not-so-good-day.

During the workshop for girls, adults will hear from Susan Anand, Art Therapist with the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior with the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Yes! Adults will enjoy a little art during the day as learn the signs of bullying situations and the benefits of art therapy.

Following a short reception serving light refreshments, we all gather to enjoy the message from Erin and Mallorie.

This is a FUNdraising event. Proceeds from this event will go towards support of the Girl Scout In-School programs serving over 2500 Girl Scouts in our area. This partnership of schools and Girl Scouts provides programming during the school day for girls that otherwise may not have the opportunity to enjoy Girl Scouts.
